1970. Her parents moved to Dallas, Texas shortly after her birth. She was a
graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Performing and Visual Arts,
located within the Arts District. She obtained her BFA in acting from Stephens
College, and also trained at the British American Drama Academy. Furthermore,
she was a part of six years at the well-known Dallas Theatre Center and one
year with that theatre's Encore Company. Before making her big screen debut,
she began her acting career at the theater. Her stage credits in theater
include performances of "As You like It", "A Funny Thing
occurred on the way to the Forum", "Measure for Measure", "Baby"
and "Chicago" as well as many more. Her breakthrough performance was
opposite Angelina Jolie in Michael Cristofer's acclaimed HBO television series
Gia (1998) endearing her to critics and audience alike. Elizabeth's charismatic
performance skills was evident in the sci-fi action film Frequency (2000) and
starring Dennis Quaid and Neil LaBute. With a variety of credits in theatres,
TV shows and movies, Elizabeth Mitchell continues to give her best in the
acting world. She broke her nose while filming of the film Frequency (2000).
