Jillian Noel Hennessy

Jillian Noel Hennessy (19 November 1975) is a Canadian singer and actor. Her most well-known roles include those on American TV's Law & Order where she was the prosecutor Claire Kincaid for three seasons and Crossing Jordan for six. She has also acted on films like RoboCop 3 (most wanted) and Crossing Jordan (which she also wrote and directed). Hennessy was a native of Edmonton, Alberta. John Hennessy was her father. He was a meat seller and a sales/marketing executive. This position required lots of travel, which caused frequent family changes. Her mother, Maxine, a secretary, left the family in 1982 leaving her daughter to be taken care of by her paternal grandmother Eleanor who lives located in Kitchener, Ontario. John Paul Hennessy Jr. Her younger brother is Jacqueline Hennessy the identical twin who works as a journalist for a magazine and TV host in Canada. Hennessy is of Irish and French, Swedish, Italian and Swedish ancestry from her father, and predominantly Ukrainian Roma and Austrian heritage from her mother. She was educated at Stanley Park Senior Public School and graduated from Grand River Collegiate Institute in Kitchener, Ontario and busked in the Toronto subway. Her sister and she made their acting debuts as twin callgirls in 1988's Dead Ringers. According to Gillian Anderson (the actress who got the role) She was selected for the role of Dana Scully on The X-Files. In 1993, Hennessy was signed by Dick Wolf as Claire Kincaid, assistant district attorney in the NBC crime drama Law & Order. She played the role for three seasons and then left the show in 1996.
